Filmfare Awards 2018 Were Very Fair & Credible: Hindi Medium Producer Dinesh Vijan Talks
Dinesh Vijan, head honcho of Maddock Films talks to SpotboyE.com about the awards conferred to Hindi Medium, Irrfan Khan and content. Vijan has two films lined up for this year- Stree and Arjun Patiala, he talks about those two as well.

I think Filmfare Awards 2018 were very fair and credible.
The yardstick while deciding was clearly content.
I agree, but were you really hopeful that Hindi
Medium would get the Best Film Award and that too in Popular category?
Hmmm... I was hopeful. I thought I was running a close
race with Secret Superstar, which also was a fantastic film. I am glad we won it.

Hindi Medium's lead actor Irrfan Khan too walked away
with the Best Actor Award. Did you expect that?
Again I was hopeful. He is one of the finest actors we
have.
He didn't attend...
He had a prior commitment and he was on flight when the
function was being held. I spoke to him later and he is very happy.

Weren't you surprised that Judwaa 2 and Golmaal Again
didn't bag any awards?
Well, Golmaal 2 is content too.
So, how do you define content?
Anything that is engaging and translates into numbers is
content. Look at the amazing work that Akshay Kumar is doing nowadays.
Isn't he astounding us film after film?
Is now budget going to be an important criterion for your
company Maddock Films before setting up the stage for any film?
Of course. Let me tell you how I mostly work, and how I
would like to work in future. I estimate my TG and the budget required in
proportion to that. Post that, it is not just breaking even but being in a win
situation.

What's next aftrer Hindi
Medium?
I have Stree and Arjun Patiala.
Stree has a unique combo of Rajkummar Rao and
Shraddha Kapoor. Rao is in top form, these days. It is a horror comedy, and it
will be the first of its kind in Bollywood. It will scare you in parts.
In Arjun Patiala, I have Kriti Sanon playing a
journalist, and Diljit Dosanjh as a small town guy who will crack you up.
Both, Stree and Arjun Patiala, release this
year.
