Box-Office Report: Sachin: A Billion Dreams Mints Rs 17.60 Crores In 2 Days

Sachin: A Billion Dreams, the docu-drama based on the life of living legend Sachin Tendulkar has received a thumbs-up from the audience.

Trade Expert Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the figures.


He tweeted: "#SachinABillionDreams shows an UPWARD TREND... Fri 8.40 cr, Sat 9.20 Cr. Total: ₹ 17.60 cr. [all languages]... FANTASTIC for a docu-drama (sic)."

On its opening day, the film had collected Rs 8.40 crore. Sachin: A Billion Dreams thus created history by becoming the first docu-drama to get the biggest opening in the genre.

The film has been announced as tax-free too in some states including Maharashtra.

With the release of Sachin: A Billion Dreams, Sachin Tendulkar became the first Indian to have a biographical drama on his life where he is portraying his own self.

Director, James Erskine has beautifully encapsulated the emotion of an entire nation in Sachin: A Billion Dreams which takes fans on the epic life journey of Sachin Tendulkar, from another cricket loving kid to a sports legend adored by a billion people.

We had earlier told you that the first show for Sachin: A Billion Dreams started at 9 am on Friday and there were shows starting almost every half hour in many multiplexes.

Many young families had brought their children along but the most energetic members of the audience were the youngsters who stepped out of the theatre chanting ‘Sachin! Sachin!’
