 Prithviraj Kapoor’s youngest son, Shashi Kapoor breathed his last, this evening at Kokilaben Hospital.

Words are less to praise or pay respect to this legend, who took the film industry by storm with his charisma and acting skills. He was not only a heartthrob for millions of female fans but also carved a niche for himself in an industry full of competition.

DIN HAI BAHAR KE TERE MERE IKRAAR KE- WAQT (1965):


This romantic number from Yash Chopra’s famous emotional saga, Waqt (also starring Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar, Sadhna, Sharmila Tagore and Balraj Sahani) is one of Shashi Kapoor’s early tracks which won a lot of hearts. The song was sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhosle and the music was by Ravi.

BEKHUDI MEIN SANAM-HASINA MAAN JAYEGI (1968):


This unforgettable track was sung by Mohammed  Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar. Shashi Kapoor romanced Babita in this film. The music was given by Kalyanji- Anandji

LIKHE JO KHAT TUJHE-KANYADAAN (1968):


Shashi Kapoor was paired opposite Asha Parekh in this number, which was crooned by Mohammed Rafi and the composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

SA RE GA MA PA PA – ABHINETRI- 1970:


Composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, this fun track had Hema Malini with Shashi Kapoor. The song was sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

O MERI SHARMILEE- SHARMILEE (1971):


One of the peppiest numbers of Bollywood, which still finds a place in our hearts. This one was filmed on Shashi Kapoor and Rakhee. The song was sung by Kishore Kumar and composed by SD Burman.

WADA KARO- AA GALE LAG JA (1973):


Again one of the most sung and remembered track featuring Shashi Kapoor where he candidly romanced Sharmila Tagore. This one was composed by RD Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar- Lata Mangeshkar.

KEH DUN TUMHE- DEEWAR (1975):


Picturised on Neetu Singh and Shashi Kapoor, this number is remixed till date for its amazing melody. The song was sung by Kishore Kumar-Lata Mangeshkar and composed by RD Burman.

FAKIRA CHAL CHALA CHAL- FAKIRA (1976):


The song was sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Hemlata and composed by Ravindra Jain.

KABHIE KABHIE MERE DIL MEIN- KABHIE KABHIE (1976):



The song had two versions which was filmed on Amitabh Bachchan-Rakhee and Shashi Kapoor-Rakhee as well. The line Suhaag Raat Hai, Ghunghat Utha Raha Hun Main, crooned by Mohammed Rafi in the 2nd version was the highlight of the track.

LALLA LALLA LORI DOODH KI KATORI- MUKTI (1977):


A famous among a lot of mothers and kids, this number was a total hit, sung by Mukesh and composed by RD Burman.

MOHABBAT BADE KAAM KI CHEEZ HAI- TRISHUL (1978):


Trishul was a film which was a blockbuster hit and this song was one of its most remembered one. Sung by Kishore Kumar, the song was composed by Khayyam and Mohammed Zahur.

CHANCHAL SHEETAL NIRMAL KOMAL- SATYAM SHIVAM SUNDRAM (
1978):


A romantic track filmed on Zeenat Aman and Shashi Kapoor, the song was sung by Mukesh and composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. 

EK RAASTA HAI ZINDAGI- KAALA PATTHAR (1979):


Bikers favourite, this groovy number is one of Shashi Kapoor's most remembered number. The song was sung by Kishore Kumar and composed by Rajesh Roshan.

TERI RAB NE BANA DI JODI- SUHAAG (1979):


This multi-starrer song was picturised on Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Rekha and Shashi Kapoor. Again one of the greatest hits of Kapoor's career. The song was sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle.
