“Sonali Bendre Was In Pain,” Says India’s Best Dramebaaz Co-Judge Vivek Oberoi

Get well soon messages have been pouring in for Sonali Bendre, who is suffering from high grade cancer, and currently undergoing treatment in New York. Vivek Oberoi, Sonali’s co-judge on the show India's Best Dramebaaz has revealed that the actress was in acute pain while shooting the episodes.

“Sonali is a good friend of mine and her husband Goldie Behl was my classmate in school. This time around when we shooting for India's Best Dramebaaz show, Sonali used to complain about suffering from pain in body and hands,” said Vivek while talking to Zee News.

Vivek says he advised Sonali to get a complete check-up done and undergo medical treatment. After the actress run the tests, it came to light that she is suffering from cancer. “I am in constant touch with the actress as well as her husband through messages”, said Vivek.

“She is a very brave a courageous woman and I am sure she will fight it out and win the battle. She will come out as a winner and stay fit”, added Sonali’s co-judge.

Umang Kumar, another judge on the show said he was shocked to learn about her illness. “I got to know about her illness through radio and am praying of her wellbeing”, said the filmmaker.

Sonali has been replaced by actress Huma Qureshi on the show India’s Next Dramebaaz.

Sonali Bendre has left everyone inspired with the way she is fighting cancer. The actress broke the unfortunate news to the world on July 4 and since then, has been taking each day head on. Here’s another picture of the actress that surfaced on the Internet after she shared an emotional post about breaking the news of cancer to her son.

She wrote, “From the moment he was born 12 years, 11 months and 8 days ago, my amazing @rockbehl took ownership of my heart. From then on, his happiness and wellbeing have been the centre of anything @goldiebehl and I ever did. And so, when the Big C reared its ugly head, our biggest dilemma was what and how we were going to tell him.

As much as we wanted to protect him, we knew it was important to tell him the full facts. We’ve always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn’t going to be different. He took the news so maturely… and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me. In some situations now, he even reverses roles and takes on being the parent, reminding me of things I need to do!

I believe that it’s imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It’s important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite.

I’m spending time with Ranveer right now, while he’s on summer vacation. His madness and shenanigans help me #SwitchOnTheSunshine. And today, we derive strength from each other #OneDayAtATime”.

On July 10, Sonali shared her first pictures from New York with her new hair cut. She also posted a video of herself at the salon getting rid of her luscious locks.
