4th State To BAN Ranveer-Deepika’s Padmaavat, And Its HARYANA

The Censor Board might have given a green signal to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat but turbulent times for the film are not yet over. After being banned in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradhesh and Gujarat Padmaavat will now not hit the theatres in Haryana. Haryana BJP Leader Anil Vij tweeted about the ban imposed on the film. “Film Padmavati/Padmavat banned in Haryana.”

On Sunday eveining, the makers re-released the trailer of the film with an updated title and release date. With Harayana banning the film being the 4th state to ban the film, the box-office collections of Padmaavat could take a hit. Media reports say that the ban was imposed in lieu of "public interest" and "in order to maintain law & order" across the state.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in turmoiled waters ever since he began working on the film. From disruptions on sets during the filming to Karni Sena vandalising theatres when the first trailer of the film was released, things have not been easy for SLB. Padmaavat hits theatres on January 25, and it will face competition from Akshay Kumar's Padman

The Central Board of Film Certification is commonly known, cleared the film last month, but had asked the makers to introduce several modifications, including a change in the name to Padmaavat -- a literary work by the 16th Century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi, on which the film is said to be based.
