Well, if it’s love for his
wife, love for a social cause or his idea of contributing to the society in
every possible way- Akshay Kumar has yet again done something special for the
janta.
You may recall that 8
months back, Twinkle Khanna got trolled for her tweet which suggested how her
morning walks at Juhu beach get affected seeing people defecate in open. The
actress was criticized for her insensitivity towards slum-dwellers who have no
choice but to use the beach as a toilet in the absence of public loos.
Interestingly, now, her
superstar husband, Akshay Kumar has funded bio-toilets worth Rs 10 lakh, which
have been installed at the beach for public use.
According to a report in
Mumbai Mirror, Akshay has teamed up with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray for
installing the toilets, which has six seats, three each for men and women, and
a separate row of urinals.
“The toilets have
bio-digester so there will be no stink. The toilets will bring a lot of relief
to not just the local slum dwellers, but also to visitors,” Assistant Municipal
Commissioner, K-West ward, Prashant Gaikwad told the daily.
Akshay Kumar’s film,
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was also about the problem of open defecation, especially
in rural areas. It won many accolades and Khiladi Kumar was appreciated for his
efforts.
Well, Akshay’s mission is
still on to eradicate the problem as much as possible and this is just another
step towards it.
