Akshay Kumar Says No To Turning Director And His Reason Will Surprise You!

He has jumped off cliffs and swam with the sharks but Akshay Kumar has said that he will never direct a film

He is one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood and with Jolly LLB 2 joining the 100 crore club, Akshay Kumar has also achieved the difficult feat of delivering four films which have touched that coveted milestone.

However, Akshay, who is also a successful producer, refuses to take the next logical step. Unlike superstars like Aamir Khan, Akshay has no plans to turn director.

Akshay was speaking to mediapersons at the press conference to announce that Jolly LLB 2 has joined the 100 crore club.

He was asked whether direction will be his next step and Akshay replied, “I have seen the fate of many directors. I have no plans to go in that direction. See, I want to be happy,” Akshay said with a smile.

Besides Akshay, Subhash Kapoor’s sequel to Jolly stars Annu Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Kumud Mishra and Huma Qureshi.

The film had a good start at the box-office and collected Rs 2.45 crore on Tuesday (Day 12) and with that the film has pocketed Rs 100.37 crore. Interestingly, the courtroom drama is Akshay’s seventh film to get an entry into the 100 cr club, at par with Shah Rukh Khan.

2017 looks promising for the superstar as well. Akshay will be seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (the shoot was wrapped up yesterday), Padman, the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, Crack and he also has a  cameo in the Tapsee Pannu starrer Naam Shabana.
