Akshay Kumar’s Padman and Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary were earlier set for a box-office clash, with both films releasing on January 26.

That clash has been averted, if only by a day.

Bringing the release of Pad Man, produced by KriArj Entertainment and Akshay Kumar, ahead by a day is a clever move, and will help Akshay to cash-in on Thursday collections. It will give him a 24-hr clear window over Aiyaary.

Last year, same time, we saw something similar, when Raees and Kaabil played box-office musical chairs.

Shah Rukh had shifted Raees ahead by a day, which in turn led Rakesh Roshan to push up the release date of his Kaabil.
