The veteran actor took to Twitter to congratulate the team for showcasing a ‘convincing’ film. He wrote, “T 2515 - 'KAABIL' most convincing film .. endearing, superior performances, and dexterously handled by Sanjay Gupta, director ! Congrats!! (sic).”

Hrithik, who considers Amitabh his greatest inspiration, replied and wrote, “Amit uncle ! Can't express the joy. Thank I so much for taking d effort to encourage us! Thank u thank u ! My greatest inspiration (sic).”

You may recall that Kaabil features a scene where Hrithik has mimicked the veteran actor.

The scene, one of the highlights of the film, begins with Hrithik's character Rohan Bhatnagar calling his reel life wife Yami Gautam (Supriya) and saying, “Hello, main Amitabh Bachchan bol raha hoon,” in Amitabh’s unmistakable baritone, which takes Supriya by surprise.

Initially, director Sanjay Gupta had got Sudesh Bhosle in mind to voice the lines as Bhosle is the go-to man in Bollywood when it comes to mimicking Bachchan. However, eager to try the lines out himself, Hrithik gave the scene a shot and floored Sanjay and producer Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik’s performance was not an impromptu one. We hear, Hrithik had spent the past few months perfecting the voice of Amitabh Bachchan and finally decided to surprise Gupta at the right moment.

Well, considering how much Mr Bachchan liked the film, Hrithik’s hard work definitely paid off.
