Deepika Padukone And Irrfan Khan To Pair Up For Vishal Bhardwaj’s Gangster Drama
Their chemistry in Piku got everyone talking and now Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan are all set for a reel reunion
Their love story did not get a chance to blossom in Piku but Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan may finally get to romance each other in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next production, a yet-untitled gangster drama.

According to a leading tabloid, the film will recreate the life of Rahima Khan aka Sapna Didi, the dreaded Mumbai mafia queen who almost got Dawood Ibrahim killed.
The film will be directed by Vishal’s longtime associate Honey Trehan and co-produced by Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor.
According to the report, Deepika will play Sapna Didi, one of the most feared dons from the ’80s, Irrfan will portray a local gangster who is in love with her and helps her in her mission to eliminate Dawood.

The film is based on a chapter from journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Vishal had purchased rights to the chapter and wrote the script for Deepika who is in an “advanced stage of discussion” with the makers of the film.
Sapna Didi had planned Dawood’s execution during a cricket match in Sharjah to avenge her husband’s death.Unfortunately for her, he got wind of her plans and killed her days before she could get to him.
The film is expected to go on the floors by the end of this year.
