Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil Will NOT Clash With Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees!

Both biggies-Kaabil and Raees were set to clash on the Republic Day. It would have been a neck to neck competition for sure. While Shah Rukh’s Raees has already been delayed much, it was impossible to move its release date further. But here’s a twist in the story!

There will be a difference of few hours between the releases of the two films. While SRK’s Raees will hit the theatres on Jan 26th morning Hrithik’s Kaabil will release 6 pm onwards on the same day.

When SpotboyE.com contacted Rakesh Roshan to confirm the news, he said, “This was a planned strategy from the beginning itself. It will release on Wednesday – 6 pm show onwards as 26th is a holiday.” When asked whether this was to get an upper hand, he laughed and said, “No, no nothing like that. I have no upper hand here.”

Talking about the clash, Kaabil director, Sanjay Gupta recently said to a section of media, “It hasn’t happened yet. I wouldn’t say I am in denial but I think the clash could still be averted. In all fairness, Rakeshji did announce the release date first. And SRK is a man of principle, a man of his word, he is a Pathan. I can’t fathom SRK stepping on someone’s toes. I don’t know if they will come on the same day as us or not but I definitely think they shouldn’t. If someone else had announced a film before him, there is no way in hell that Rakeshji would bring his film out on the same date. That is the respect we need to accord one another.”

When asked if Raees Vs Kaabil would indeed turn out to be SRK Vs Hrithik, he added, "Hrithik is 10 years younger than Shah Rukh. So I don't see this as a competition. Shah Rukh's competitions are Salman and Aamir. Both the films (Raees and Kaabil) won't do more than Rs 150 crore in a week because we have a Rs 300 crore box-office window at best. When Salman releases a film solo, he gets Rs 300 crore. Shah Rukh should be looking at getting Rs 300 crore for his film and I'm sure he is looking at that possibility. I don't understand why he would restrict the business of his own film. This clash is also going to be detrimental to them."
