The actor played a doting brother and dropped by on the sets of Ishaan’s debut film with renowned Iranian filmmaker, Majid Majidi
Shahid Kapoor’s half brother Ishaan Khatter is making his acting debut with renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s film, Beyond The Clouds. The youngster kick-started the shoot of the project today at Mukesh Mills, Colaba and doting brother Shahid dropped by on the sets to extend support to Ishaan.
He even took to social media to wish him luck. He wrote, “This ones ready to fly. Make us proud @ishaan95 (sic),” alongside a heart-warming picture of the two.
We also spotted Neelima Azeem, Rajesh Khatter and A.R. Rahman at the shoot location.
It’s heartening to see the family come out and encourage the debutant. Isn’t it?
The film is touted to be a brother-sister story and Majidi was in the country in August last year to prep for it. The acclaimed Iranian writer producer-director known for films like The Colour of Paradise, Baran, The Song of Sparrows, Muhammad: The Messenger of God and the Oscar-nominated Children of Heaven, had met casting director, Honey Trehan, during his August trip. Honey was subsequently given the task of scouting for at least 8-10 actors from across India to play principal characters in the human-drama.

While Ishaan has been locked to play the brother’s role, the actress is yet to be finalised. It was reported that Deepika Padukone had done a look test for the project when de-glam pictures of her surfaced online. However, no confirmation on the matter has been given yet.
Beyond The Clouds will be shot across Mumbai and Jaipur. “He is a superb actor, was amazing in his look test and suits the character Mr Majidi was looking for. Ishaan will play someone deeply connected to the ground and to the city," confirms Shareen Mantri Kedia who is producing the film.
