Is Sooraj Pancholi’s Football Film Finding It Hard To Get Takers?

Sooraj Pancholi has not had a smooth sailing in Bollywood. Even before his debut film, Hero, could hit theatres, the youngster found himself embroiled in a legal muddle when he was charged with abetting the suicide of actress Jiah Khan. The incident invited a lot of bad press for Sooraj, but, he was hopeful that Hero’s success at the box-office may rescue his reputation, personally and professionally. However that didn’t happen as the film failed to make an impact.

Nonetheless, things began looking up for Sooraj when he was signed on
for three films one after the other -- Remo D’Souza’s next with Ajay Devgn, choreographer Bosco Martis’s Circus and debutant director Pierre Timmins’s sports film.

But it looks like it will be a while before things fall into place for the actor. Buzz is, Excel has applied brakes on Pierre Timmins’s film
for some time. Reason? They are yet to get a studio on board.

Sooraj has been prepping for the film for a while now (In Pics: Sooraj Pancholi’s football prep up for Pierre Timmins’s film,
August 23) and was to continue doing so for the next few months. Now, he will have to wait a bit before he resumes his football lessons.

His other projects too seem to be in limbo. His film with Bosco does not seem to be making any progress as the choreographer has not made
an official announcement about the project yet.

Goes to prove that Bollywood can be a tough place even if you are a star kid.
