A few days ago, Radhika Apte opened up about her role in her upcoming venture Padman, which will be co-produced by Twinkle Khanna and KriArj Entertainment (founded by Prerna Arora & Arjun N Kapoor).
Revealing that she plays Akshay's wife in the film, she told a section of the media, "Akshay's is the main part, but I play his wife and that's a crucial role. In certain films it's not about the length of the role but what your part adds to it.There's a lot of meat in this character and I'm excited."
Sonam Kapoor To Star Opposite Akshay Kumar In Padman
This R Balki directed upcoming film is based on the real life story of Padma Shri Arunachalam Muruganantham. He is the man who invented the machine that manufactures sanitary pads at a low cost. Akshay Kumar plays the lead role and the film also has Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role.
Details about Sonam's role were not yet known--- but not anymore!

Akshay has been super excited about Padman's concept. After completing the shoot of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (which will be his next release and is again a KriArj film) alongside Bhumi Pedneker recently, he had taken to his Twitter account to announce the start of Padman. “Embarking on a new journey, this time with the Mrs. First day of @mrsfunnybones’ #Padman directed by R. Balki, need ur love & luck as always” he wrote and posted it with a picture of him holding hands with Twinkle.
While Radhika's enthusiasm and belief in Padman is known, let us tell you that Twinkle too is very high on Padman. She had said that everyone should watch this film as the subject is socially relevant. “It is a beautiful inspiring story. It’s a socially relevant film. Through Pad Man we want the story to reach every nook and corner of India. The motive is to raise awareness about sanitary hygiene," Twinkle had told the media.
