Sona Mohapatra Miffed With Anu Malik’s Comeback On Indian Idol, Slams The Channel For Supporting Sexual Predators
Sona Mohapatra is known to express her opinions on Twitter quite fearlessly and the brazen singer had lashed out at music composer Anu Malik and singer Kailash Kher earlier for sexual harassment and misconduct during the #MeToo wave in Bollywood. Following these allegations against Anu Malik, he was removed and barred from being a judge on the music reality show Indian Idol. A few days ago, there were reports that mentioned Anu Malik would make a comeback on Indian Idol as a judge once again. Now, Sona Mohapatra has slammed the channel for rehiring him and bringing him back on the show.

Sona Mohapatra took to Twitter and expressed her outrage at the news of Anu Malik’s comeback. Not one to mince her words, she wrote, “This is the depraved man who rubs himself, threatens, drops his pants, forces someone’s head into his crotch & then repeat replay. This is the man @SonyTV @SonyTVUSA @sonytvuk hires back for the nth time on Indian Idol as judge?” In another tweet, she mentions that his return on Indian Idol is confirmed. Sona tweeted, “It is confirmed news that @SPTV @sonytv have shot a promo with Anu Malik who got called out by multiple women last year in @IndiaMeToo. Some who were minors.Sends out a clear message to #India & the world at large - Sony Pictures Television “supports”, “enables" sexual predators.”

Sona Mohapatra also criticized music composer and another one of Indian Idol judges, Vishal Dadlani, and asked him to take a real stand. She wrote, “& since U do care about the pain of Indian women & girls, Vishal, take a real stand, stand up & walk your talk. Multiple women spoke up about Anu Malik in @IndiaMeToo & some were minors during the incident. No amount of money or fame is worth this.” Take a look at the tweet:
