Sridevi Told This To Boney Kapoor About Sujata Kumar, Who Passed Away Last Night

We have been tracking the Sujata Kumar story since yesterday. Last evening, we told you that she was battling for life at Lilavati Hospital; her metastatic cancer having spread to almost all her organs. This morning, unfortunately we had sadder news about Sujata having left the world of living.

Sujata, sister of actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, was cremated this morning at Pawan Hans (Vile Parle) at 11 am. The end came last night at 11.26 pm. Sujata had got a new lease of life around the time English Vinglish released in 2012. She was said to be a cancer survivor then (apparently the Big C resurfaced), and her happiness had doubled because her role of Sridevi's sister had been amply noticed by the audiences (she had not been noticed in many roles before that and she had been vocal about it). In one of her interviews during the promotional campaigns of English Vinglish, Sujata had said, "Sridevi is a great human being. She is a sweetheart. I am so proud that I played her elder sister. We are not blood sisters but there was a great rapport between us. I found her very down to earth and we bonded well."

Now, incidentally, Sridevi also was fond of her. And she had shared her opinion about Sujata with her husband Boney Kapoor, who had met her on a couple of occasions. Boney tells SpotboyE.com, "I had met Sujata once or twice."

And what did Sridevi tell him about Sujata? "Well, Sri always told me that Sujata was a very dignified lady, full of warmth," Boney replied.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is shattered. She has lost someone very close to her. We stand by Suchitra in her moment of crisis. May Sujata's soul rest in peace.
