Sridevi has been working in the film industry since the age of 13. However, she isn't that keen on her daughters having the same life.
During an interview to promote her upcoming film Mom, Sridevi was asked about Jhanvi’s future plans.
"She wanted to do the film (SOTY 2) and initially, I wasn’t in favour. I don’t think it’s a bad industry. I am a creation of this world. But as a parent, it would give me greater joy to see her married. But her happiness matters more, and if she does well as an actress, I will be a proud mother," said Sridevi.

Coming back to Jhanvi's debut, it was said that she would be sharing screenspace with Sara Ali Khan and Ishaan Khattar in SOTY 2. However, Sara and Ishaan both decided to move on as the project was not picking up. Now Sara is making her debut with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Ishaan will be seen in Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds. The latest is that Jhanvi will be seen in Dharma Productions’ Hindi remake of the Marathi hit Sairat.
