So, for a while now, maybe two-three days, the media has
gone pretty wild in arriving at a conclusion that Sara Ali Khan is getting all
ready to do a co-production venture helmed by Anushka Sharma and KriArj
Entertainment's Prerna Arora.
But that's not happening. Sara is NOT doing this film.
Anushka Sharma At An Event
Yeah, so Sara had been offered the film and she had loved the story/script. So, why did she drop out?
The initial plan was to release Kedarnath somewhere in June 2018, but later it got shifted to December. Gattu (Kedarnath's director) and Prerna (who is also producing Kedarnath in association with Ekta Kapoor) felt that Sara should concentrate preferably only on Kedarnath till it hits theatres. Consequently, Sara (sportingly) opted out, excusing herself from the film on the same grounds.

If she had signed the Anushka-Prerna co-production, Sara would have become the first female actor to be signed by Anushka's production house Clean Slate Films (co-owned by her brother Karnesh), which has only made films with the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress in the lead role so far.
So, for at least now, Sara concentrates only on Kedarnath, which goes back on floors with its next schedule on November 10 in Mumbai.
Sometime ago, Sara and Sushant wrapped up the first schedule of Kedarnath. Gattu promptly took to Instagram to announce the news. He shared a pic with Sara and Sushant (who, by the way, look absolutely stunning!

Beech mein, there was also speculation that Sara’s role in Kedarnath is inspired by Basanti from Sholay, immaculately portrayed by Hema Malini.
And of course, whosoever thinks that she can get into Sara's shoes in this film, is free to knock Anushka and/or Prena's door. Sara's replacement has not been finalised. Go for it girls, and quickly!
