Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma Cheered Up This Depressed Cricketer On Their Dinner Date

He is now a
renowned cricketer in good form. But when he made his Test debut for India in
Melbourne against Australia in 2014, he had failed miserably as he only scored a 3
& 1 in two innings. And guess who was there by his side to cheer him up? It
was none other than Mrs Kohli, who was then Virat’s girlfriend- well yes,
Anushka Sharma and the man in question is KL Rahul.
This instance is
of 2014 when she had accompanied Virat Kohli for the Test match in Melbourne.
As KL Rahul was totally disheartened with his performance, Anushka and Virat
thought of changing his mood and invited him to their dinner date night. KL
Rahul has now opened up on the same during an interview to a leading
entertainment channel. He said, “Both of them (Anushka and Virat) have
been very good to me and I have a great story to tell you. Anushka was there to
watch the Melbourne match. She could see that I was down and dejected (with
personal performance) while my thoughts were all over. Anushka came to my room
and told me she isn't going to let me sit alone and think about cricket and
added that she and Virat are going to take him out.”
Rahul had made his
Test debut in the Boxing Day Test beginning on 26 December 2014 at the
Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia, when he aggregated low scores in
two innings. Talking about how he joined them as the third wheel on their
numerous romantic dinner dates, Rahul revealed that Virushka shared stories of
their failures and explained him that a lot of people in their lives face
failures in first attempt, “I third wheeled on one of the dinner dates. Both
Virat and Anushka shared their stories describing moments when they had endured
failure in their careers. That made me feel like that I wasn't the only one who
ruined his first impression. We had a week's break before the next game and
they took me out every time with them. They are a powerful couple and have had
a great influence on me as a couple.”
Talking about how
Anushka’s gesture was unexpected yet extremely sweet, Rahul added, “It was nice
of Anushka to do it as I didn't know how she could understand what I was going
through. We still stay in touch and exchange a few messages, although Anushka's
are about my dog mostly,”
