Before Twinkle Khanna’s first production Padman hits theatres in January 2018, another story she has worked on, has won over the audience.

Salaam, Noni Appa - a story from Twinkle’s bestseller The Legend of Laxmi Prasad was premiered as a stage play.

It has been adapted for stage by Lillete Dubey.

Twinkle along with her family including son Aarav, husband Akshay Kumar and mother Dimple Kapadia were present at the premiere.


Akshay Kumar, the doting husband carried Twinkle’s purse on his shoulders while his wife got busy talking to well wishers and the media.


Hrithik Roshan who saw the play with ex-wife Sussanne was all praise for Mrs Funnybones


Twinkle got a little nostalgic talking about the play


This story is a tale of two sisters in their sixties, trying to piece together their lives between loneliness and unexpected friendship. Lillette Dubey who has directed and produced it was the one who reached out to Twinkle Khanna with the idea of a stage adaptation. Dubey plays Noni Appa.
