LFW Grand Finale: Rohit Bal ‘illuminates’ the ramp with his collection

A tribute to ancient times
You Wore WHAT!?

Kareena Kapoor closed Lakme Fashion Week walking the ramp for Rohit Bal (LFW Grand Finale: Kareena stuns on the catwalk, Apr 4) and SLAYED it.

Rohit too slayed the grand finale with his creation titled Koroshni which in Urdu means ‘illuminate’. And man, was this creation on fire! Not literally, though.

The colour palette ranged from white to royal blue to gold with splashes of red. Rohit used organic fabric which included mulmul, silks and velvets with ancient embroidery techniques.

There were lattice work saris and men in skirts.

Capes were a big part of the collection – both short and long, flowy ones.

The floral motifs were in keeping with summer/resort wear and you can bet Rohit’s Bollywood clientele are going to lap up this collection. Rohit completes 25 years in the industry this year and what a show he put up!

What also added to the aura was the backdrop of St Xavier’s College. The campus made a stunning backdrop for an even stunning collection.

Sitting front row were names like Huma Qureshi and Amrita Puri.

Model Sheetal Mallar also walked the ramp and showed us that pros really know how it’s done.
