2016 indeed is a wretched year for love and romance for celebs. Another couple that looked rock-solid has announced their separation - Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts.
The couple was together for 11 years and had 2 children. They announced this separation through a joint statement that said after careful thought, the two had decided to separate as a couple and raise their children as a family. They also asked the media to respect their and their children's privacy. They have two sons, Alexander and Samuel.
Liev Schreiber is best known for his role in the Hugh Jackman film X-Men: Origins series as Sabretooth and the TV series Ray Donovan. Schreiber’s last fil was The 5th Wave. Naomi Watts became a household name with Mulholland Drive. Her last release was the Divergent Series: Allegiant.
According to earlier interviews, the couple first met at the Met Gala in 2005 and it was quite quick from there. A few days later, the two decided to start a family and live as one.
This is another high profile separation of this year. Earlier, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard went through a very public divorce. Just about a week ago, the Brangelina split rocked fans. Will 2016 bring more such shockers, we sincerely hope not.
