Shia LaBeouf Slams Steven Spielberg, Criticises His Film-Making Process

Is the actor still unhappy about Indy 4 failure?

Shia LaBeouf stirred the pot of controversy when he criticized the way ace film-maker Steven Spielberg works . In an interview, the actor said it is a different experience to meet Spielberg. Earlier, he was just a director, but he is now more of a company.

He also went on to criticise his working experience with Spielberg, saying that his sets are more elaborate and everything is very meticulously planned – which doesn’t give an actor the freedom he or she requires.
Shia has had a difficult time working with big banners. His outing as Sam Whitwicky in the Transformers series didn’t win him many fans. When he signed up for Spielberg’s Indiana Jones franchise, there was a lot of controversy.

In 2010, after the Indiana Jones film tanked, Shia alleged that he and Spielberg both didn’t give their 100% to the film. He apologised for the comments back then, but these recent comments hint that all’s not well between the two –years after their last film together.

Shia has worked with Spielberg in 4 films. Spieberg was Executive Producer for the 2007 Shia starrer Disturbia. In 2008, Shia was the lead actor in the Spielberg produced Eagle Eye. He was also part of the Spielberg-directed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.
