Trailer Review: Is Kidnap Halle Berry’s most intense performance ever?

Halle Berry’s mother of a kidnapped son promises intensity

Halle Berry is back after two years and she is kicking some serious butt in the latest trailer of Kidnap.
Berry plays a mother, Karla McCoy, whose son is kidnapped in driven off. Karla decides to take matters into her own hands and pursue the kidnapper – who’s driving her son in a car to an undisclosed location.

Whatever we have seen of Berry in the film promises a multi-layered character and Berry seems to have got into the skin of the character well.
The film promises to be a thriller, it also embarks on the issues that the country faces – an overwhelmed police force, the urgency of nipping crime in the bud and other such things. The Kidnap trailer is promising enough for us to look forward to the December release of the film. It promises some amazing action.  This is the first trailer, so it does have the staple teases and abrupt cuts, so not much is known about the story.

Halle Berry has earlier worked in out and out thrillers like Gothika (2003) and The Call (2013).
Kidnap is directed by Luis Prieto, who earlier gave us the crime-thriller Pusher in 2012.
