Dangal's First Song Is Out, Here Is Aamir Khan As The Papa Who Preaches

Here is Aamir Khan in a completely new avatar, a stick-wielding  'Haanikarak Bapu' from Haryana. The first song from Dangal is out and with its desi beats and clever lyrics, it is a catchy, hummable number.

Sung by Sarwar Khan and Sartaz Khan, the song is a complaint from the young Phogat sisters as their father wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, played by Aamir Khan, starts to train them for their first wrestling bout.

Dangal, is based on the real life of champion wrestlers, Geeta and Babita and their coach father and chronicles their journey from a small village in Haryana to global fame.

While we know that Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play the older version of the girls, the song introduces their younger versions played by Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar.

Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song has some funny lyrics like, ‘Bapu, Hindi Filmon Ka Khalnayak Hai’. But it is the trio's heartwarming equation and comic expressions that make the song a fun watch. Sakshi Tanwar, who plays Aamir’s wife in the film, is a mute spectator to this strict regime and she tells her daughters, “Saal bhar ke liye bhul jao ke thade koi maa hai.”

The trailer, which was released in October had received great reviews. Interestingly, Mahavir’s daughter Geeta Phogat, is all set to tie the knot with wrestler Pawan Kumar on November 20. Aamir Khan will be attending the wedding.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is scheduled to hit theatres on December 23.
