Pratyusha Case: Supreme Court orders her parents to withdraw plea to cancel Rahul’s bail
The Banerjees have been told that only the legal team appointed by the State can challenge the bail
After almost 2 months since Pratyusha Banerjee’s death under mysterious circumstances, a new development has taken place in the case today.
The Supreme Court ordered the actress’ parents – Shoma and Shankar – to withdraw their plea to cancel Rahul Raj Singh’s anticipatory bail.

Pratyusha’s boyfriend Rahul has been the prime accused in the case so far and was granted bail on April 26. In retaliation, the actress’ parents sought cancellation of the bail on May 19.
Confirming the development, Pratyusha’s father told SpotboyE, “The respectable Apex Court told us that the case is State of Maharashtra v/s Rahul Raj Singh. So the legal team appointed by the State can challenge his anticipatory bail. We can’t. The court heard our lawyer’s points but we didn’t know that we can’t challenge his bail.”
The actress’ parents promptly withdrew their plea and are now waiting for the state of Maharashtra to send its legal representatives for the matter.

Shankar also revealed that he requested the State’s Ministry for Law and Order to act more promptly in the matter.
“The case will be heard in the City Civil and Sessions Court in Mumbai from June-end or early July. We don’t have a date. The cops have not even filed the chargesheet in the matter. This is all we could do,” sighs Shankar, adding, “Rahul has not been through custodial interrogation so far. All he does is roam around on the beaches and give TV bytes about how harrowed he is these days.”
