Kapil Sharma Slips To No.5, Did Jackie Chan Fail Him?
Your weekly dope on the ongoing TV shows. Week 5 (January 27- February 2) had a number of surprises in store for its viewers
TRP ratings are a fickle game. One week, a show might be
making its presence felt on the leader board and in the next, might drop to the
bottom of the barrel. Something similar happened to The Kapil Sharma Show.

In Week 4 (January 20-26), the comedy show was flying
high and clinched the No.2 spot -- thanks to Baba Ramdev’s antics. However, in
Week 5 (January 27- February 2), the show slipped to the 5th position.

On January 28 (Saturday), The Kapil Sharma Show had
renowned singer Richa Sharma make an appearance, January 29th (Sunday)
episode (Sunday) saw the cast of Kung Fu Yoga – Jackie Chan, Sonu Sood, Disha
Patani and Amyra Dastur -- promoting the venture.
While one would expect Jackie Chan to propel the show’s ratings considering the action star enjoys a huge fan base in India, however, let us tell you that the episode featuring Richa Sharma was more popular.

Furthermore, Ekta Kapoor continued to rule the roost with
Mouni Roy-starrer, Naagin 2. The TV czarina never fails to weave magic. Isn’t
it?

Making a roaring entry into the Top 10 -- for the second
time – was Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss, Season 10. The first time it acquired
a spot in the coveted list was when it premiered in October last year. Now,
it’s the reality show’s grand premiere that found a place in the leader board.
In Week 5, it stood at No. 2.

The curiosity as to who among Manveer Gurjar, Bani Judge,
Lopamudra Raut or Manu Punjabi will be declared the winner, kept the audiences
hooked. However, this good news has come too late in the day for Colors and
they shouldn’t be proud of it. This Season was extremely dismal as far as viewership
is concerned.

In fact, Season 9 too was drab. Seems the controversial
reality show has run its course.

Up next, Colors’ Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Zee TV’s
Kumkum Bhagya and Star Plus show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya stayed put at No, 3, 4
and 6 respectively.

Colors show Udaan, which had its makers celebrating in Week 4 owing to an increased viewership, dropped by 4 positions and was at No.9. The ongoing track of Kamal Narayan (Sai Ballal) torturing Suraj (Vijayendra Kumeria) and Chakor (Meera Deosthale) seems to have plateaued. At this point, the makers should look at introducing an interesting twist.
