Shah Rukh Khan and
Gauri Khan celebrate their Silver Jubilee today. It was October 25, 1991 when
the Industry’s romance King tied the nuptial knot with the only girl he had
ever dared to talk to or ask her telephone number.
Shah Rukh Khan and
Gauri Khan’s love story is no less than a Bollywood film itself which has
genuinely stood by the cliché line of every Bollywood blockbuster- ‘And they
lived Happily ever after’.
The magical love story
of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri is definitely inspiring in many ways. Their marriage
has survived many tests of time, making them one of the most stable couples of
Bollywood.
“I am very shy in
personal life. I had never asked a girl out”, says the man who gets hearts
thumping faster when he romantically stretches his arms. Gauri is not only Shah
Rukh Khan’s support system but also the only girl her had ever asked out for a
dance.
Speaking on a chat
show SRK has confessed, “I danced with her, she was very good. I asked for her
telephone number and she was the first girl with whom I had danced or asked for
her number. I felt that she is the one for me, as she had not told me a ‘no’,”
After dating Gauri for
almost for six years, Shah Rukh Khan popped the big question while dropping his
ladylove home in his black Fiat. In his typical witty style, SRK asked Gauri if
she would marry him and without waiting for an answer, drove off. Of course,
Gauri ‘obliged’! Gauri Khan’s brother had also given SRK some sound advice.
“Don’t do anything hanky panky with my sister”, is what the Bollywood superstar
had to hear from his would-be wife’s brother back then!
Shah Rukh Khan and
Gauri are blessed with 3 children- Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. They surely make a
perfect family.
