Have you read about the Sheena Bora murder?
Yes, I have. Many people from Kolkata know of Indrani Mukerjea and her husband Peter. So, there's lot of information to incorporate in the film.
How close is Dark Chocolate to the real case?
It's a fictitious story inspired by the real mess. There are no layers in it like Talvar; it's not anybody's perspective.
Does it show in the end that the mother (Mahima Chaudhary) killed the daughter (Riya)?
Hmmm.... yes, it does. The plot revolves around the two of us- our different mentalities and even our craziness.
And what's your take on the step that Indrani took?
I think a lot of things must have happened in her life that drove her to kill Sheena. It's not as easy it appears.
Had you interacted with Indrani ever?
I attended one of her parties long ago, and I have seen her in social dos.
So what's Mahima and your craziness in the film about? Relationships?
Yes, both mother and daughter have several relationships.
So you both have done many bold scenes?
Yes, and I have gone extremely bold. Ironically, I was refusing many Bollywood films in recent times which required me to indulge in lots of lovemaking.
So why make concession for Dark Chocolate?
Sheena-Indrani story is something that deserves to be represented on celluloid. Plus, the film's director Agnidev Chatterjee is a family friend who knows my mom very well. So I knew that he won't make me do anything for just the heck of it. I am enjoying Dark Chocolate.
