Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently shared a humorous behind-the-scenes story from the making of Tees Maar Khan, revealing that actor Akshay Kumar used to travel to the film’s set by helicopter every day. Despite the extravagant mode of transport, Farah said Akshay remained the most punctual member of the cast and crew.
Farah made the revelation while reminiscing about the shooting days of the 2010 comedy film, which starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. Although Tees Maar Khan received mixed reviews upon release, it has gradually gained a loyal fan following and is now often regarded as a cult favorite.
Recalling the schedule, Farah said the film was being shot in Malshej Ghat, located nearly two-and-a-half hours away from Mumbai. The entire team would stay near the location because the call time was early in the morning. However, Akshay chose a different approach. Instead of staying there, he would return home every evening after the shoot and still arrive on set before everyone else the next morning.
When asked how he managed to do that, Akshay revealed that he travelled by helicopter daily. The revelation surprised those present, prompting laughter from the group. Farah joked that it was the first time she had seen an actor use a helicopter like a taxi service. She praised Akshay’s professionalism, noting that he was always on time despite the unusual commute.
Akshay responded by pointing out that he was one of the film’s producers and paid for the helicopter himself. Farah, who was also a producer on the project, quickly replied in jest, “He ate up my money.” The light-hearted exchange continued as Akshay argued that Farah had earned the most from the film, leading to more laughter between the longtime collaborators.
The anecdote added another memorable chapter to the legacy of Tees Maar Khan, a film that continues to spark conversations years after its release.
