Bhooth Bangla is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2026, as it will see the long-awaited return of the OG duo Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after a gap of 14 years. The film has already created a huge buzz among fans, as the duo has earlier given some of the most iconic cult comedy films in the Hindi film industry. Renowned for their impeccable comic timing and entertaining storytelling, they are all set to recreate the same magic once again. Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, Bhooth Bangla has also created a huge wave of nostalgia among fans who have grown up watching their favorite stars.
Recently, director Priyadarshan spoke about his experience of working with Ektaa Kapoor, whose production house, Balaji Motion Pictures, is backing the film. He revealed that many people had told him that it might be tough working with her, but his experience was totally different.
Priyadarshan shared how Ektaa gave him complete creative freedom, saying, “That is one thing I just have to tell you. When I went to do the film with Ektaa, a lot of people told me that she is a difficult woman to work with. But I never found I think there is a whole thing I Maybe I am lucky. I have to tell you this: She is the first producer in my life who never asked me, “What are you doing?” and gave me complete liberty to create.”
He further added, First producer in the 98 films I have made, every producer asks, 'Can we do this?” or 'Can we change that?” So I was quite shocked when people said it is difficult to work with her. But I am it's is An absolute truth that I found its so easy to work with her.”
The makers of Bhooth Bangla recently unveiled the film’s teaser, bringing back a wave of nostalgia and taking the internet by storm. Audiences praised the return of the cult comic punchlines, spooky fun, and the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, along with the legendary cast, making the film even more anticipated.
Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films, presents Bhooth Bangla starring Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav. Directed by Priyadarshan and Produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor. Releasing in theatres on 10th April, 2026.
