Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer highly- awaited South film ‘Ponniyin Selvan:1’ releases today, on 30th September, and advance bookings of Rs. 11 crores for day 1 are already done. The entire cast of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus has been promoting the film on different platforms and in different cities. Recently, actors Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show. However, Aishwarya’s absence raised many eyebrows. Some netizens claimed that the actress gave it a miss because of Salman Khan.

Soon after the photos of the other cast of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ from the show went viral, netizens started believing that Aish refused to appear on the show because of her bitter past with Salman as he is the producer of the comedy show. Echoing similar sentiments, one user tweeted, “Salman is one of the producers of Kapil Sharma's show. That's the reason behind Aishwarya's absence.”

However, it has now been revealed that Khan is not the reason behind Aish’s absence from the show. As reported by Bollywoodlife, the Taal actress was busy with her prior commitments to promote the film somewhere else. To note, Aishwarya had earlier appeared on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' during the promotions of her films ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Jazbaa’. With ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ the actress is making her smashing comeback as Queen Nandini after four years. The 48-year-old actress was last seen with Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the 2018 family drama Fanney Khan.
