Hindi film Chhichhore starring late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput bagged the National Film Award for Best Hindi film at the 67th National Film Awards. In the event that took place in New Delhi, on Monday, the movie won the prestigious award, presented by the honourable President of India. As the film featuring Sushant Singh Rajput, producer Sajid Nadiadwala released a statement, dedicating the National Film Award to the late actor. Sajid Nadiadwala also thanked director Nitesh Tiwari for the very special movie.
Chhichhore producer Sajid Nadiadwala released a statement that read, “On behalf of NGE, I dedicate this extremely prestigious award to Sushant Singh Rajput. We can’t get over his loss ever but I sincerely pray that this award gives a little bit of happiness to his family and fans which includes me. And I am tremendously grateful to Nitesh Tiwari for giving us all this very special movie." The producer mentioned he was a fan of SSR and his work in the movies. He hoped that the award gives his family and fans a little bit of happiness.
Actor Tahir Raj Bhasin's who also featured in the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer revealed that the film Chhichhore will always be special to him. As Chhichhore won the National award, Tahir was quoted saying, “I feel incredibly grateful to have played the part of Derek and been a part of Chhichhore. It will always be a special film to me. Nitesh Tiwari and Sajid Nadiadwala captained this ship, and it was an ace team to have been on. The film was about never allowing society to decide if you are a winner or a loser but fighting the very notions of these labels and finding your own happiness. I feel so rewarded that we’ve been recognised by the country’s highest award for the film. Meanwhile, Chhichhore was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and released in 2019. The film featured Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, and Tahir Raj Bhasin.
