The film Dhurandhar — starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna — is clearly not ready to slow down at the box office. After an exceptional opening weekend, the movie successfully cleared Monday’s “test”; by Tuesday (its fifth day), the Aditya Dhar-directed film saw a box office surge and crossed the ₹ 150 crore threshold.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned roughly ₹ 26.50 crore on Tuesday, bringing the five-day total to ₹ 152.75 crore. This is a notable jump from Monday’s ₹ 23.25 crore. Given this performance, projections suggest that Dhurandhar could gross as much as ₹ 190-200 crore by the end of its first week.
For context: Dhurandhar is planned as a two-part film, with the combined budget for both parts reportedly at ₹ 280 crore. If we assume the budget for Part 1 at ₹ 140 crore, the film has already recouped its cost — putting it firmly on the path to being a hit.
Critical reception has been mixed. In its review, The Free Press Journal gave Dhurandhar 2.5 stars, remarking, “Those who love action will surely find the film appealing. If you can withstand the slow pace narrative of the first half, then, do watch the film. Overall, you won’t be disappointed… especially the second half.”
Meanwhile, comparisons have already begun: Chhaava — currently the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 — earned ₹ 165.75 crore in its first five days. Thus, Dhurandhar sits roughly ₹ 13 crore behind Chhaava’s pace so far, making it interesting to see whether it can catch up and perhaps surpass that benchmark.
Overall, Dhurandhar’s early box office trajectory, solid word-of-mouth and recouped budget imply it may well become one of this year’s major box office successes.
