Just Like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor Too Had A Film Lined Up With Deepika Padukone Which Is Now On Hold

Months back, when Rishi Kapoor returned Mumbai from the New York City after recovering from cancer, fans couldn’t be happier; not only because of his good health but also the fact that Kapoor would be finally coming back to the silver screen with a bang. However, destiny had some other plans for him and his fans. Earlier today, Kapoor succumbed to cancer, leaving the entire film industry in a shock. Among many other projects, Rishi was all set to work with his son Ranbir Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone in the Hindi adaptation of The Intern.

The announcement of this film was made only some time ago and it was indeed an exciting one. Both Deepika and Rishi had expressed their elation in sharing screen space. “The Intern is a very relevant film for the present-day Indian workplace milieu and it showcases human relationships beautifully. I am very excited to be working with Deepika and being a part of this heart-warming story. It is great that Warner Bros. and AZURE are officially making this film in India," Rishi Kapoor had said in his official statement.

Deepika, on the other hand, was thrilled to announce the film alongside Rishi Kapoor. However, with the sudden demise of Rishi Kapoor, we wonder if the film will be put on hold or the makers will soon look for a replacement. Coincidentally, Deepika was also to star in a Vishal Bhardwaj film alongside Irrfan Khan; however, it was pushed owing to the latter’s health problems. Unfortunately, Irrfan Khan too left for his heavenly abode yesterday. It’s a big, big loss to Bollywood indeed.
