The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai filmmaker has sent Kumaar (Baby Doll) and Amitabh Bhattacharya (of Lootera fame) packing from his office.

A source close to Karan Johar revealed, "There is a scene in Kapoor and Sons where a senior actor dies. Karan wanted a sad song for this situation."

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who are scoring the film's music did not have an appropriate tune to set the mood. This in turn sent Karan to outsource the song to some other music composer.

Added the source, "Karan approached Amitabh Bhattacharya to pen the song but did not like his output. He then called Kumaar, who didn't satisfy his requirement either."

The hunt for a lyricist, who can provide a sad song to suit Karan's sensibilities, is on.

Kapoor and Sons stars Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan in lead roles.
