Actress and Bharatiya Janata Party leader MP Kirron Kher is in mourning after her father, Colonel Thakur Singh, breathed his last in Chandigarh today morning. He was 103.
Anupam Kher shared the news on Twitter, saying : "Col. Thakur Singh, Kirron Ji's father departed for a better world this morning. He was one of the kindest persons I have ever met. Will miss him. (sic)"

Col. Thakur Singh had been unwell for some time according to reports and Kirron has rushed to her hometown recently to be by his side.
Kirron's father who had remained active till illness caught upto him recently had campaigned with his daughter when she stood for elections in 2014.
She had won and became the Member of Parliament from Chandigarh. The Jat Sikh family have been long-time residents of Chandigarh and Kirron was born Kiran Thakur Singh.
After the news broke, the Singhs' family residence in the city became crowded with family and friends who queued up to pay their last respects to the deceased. Kirron's son Sikander Kher too is expected to be there
The funeral, which will reportedly take place according to Sikh customs, is expected to take place soon.
Anupam Kher too is by his wife's side in her moment of distress. He is taking a break from his busy schedule to mourn the death. On the work front,
Anupam Kher, who was last seen playing Sushant Singh Rajput’s father in M.S. Dhoni, will be working on two Hollywood films The Big Sick, an American romantic comedy and Hotel Mumbai, an American-Australian thriller.
