The controversy surrounding Hera Pheri 3 has taken another dramatic turn after filmmaker Priyadarshan made explosive claims about producer Firoz Nadiadwala. Opening up about his exit from the much-awaited comedy franchise, the veteran director alleged that he was repeatedly insulted by the producer and claimed that the film's future now looks bleak.
Speaking in a recent interview, Priyadarshan said that he endured disrespect on several occasions during his association with the project. He revealed that despite his love for the Hera Pheri franchise, he eventually decided to step away because his self-respect mattered more than continuing with the film.
The filmmaker also expressed disappointment over the current state of Hera Pheri 3. According to him, ongoing legal disputes have brought the project to a standstill. He remarked that while the original Hera Pheri became a cult classic and Phir Hera Pheri continued the legacy, the third installment now appears to be "dead" because of the legal complications surrounding it.
Priyadarshan further shared that he had ambitious plans for Hera Pheri 3 and believed it had the potential to become an even bigger blockbuster. However, with multiple legal issues and uncertainty over the rights attached to the franchise, he feels the chances of the film moving forward have become increasingly slim.
The director's remarks come at a time when Hera Pheri 3 has been making headlines for several behind-the-scenes controversies, including disputes involving the cast, production, and rights to the franchise. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala had recently confirmed that Priyadarshan is no longer associated with the project.
While fans continue to hope for the reunion of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal on the big screen, Priyadarshan's latest statements have cast fresh doubt over whether Hera Pheri 3 will ever go on floors, leaving the future of the iconic franchise hanging in the balance.
