Actor Rajpal Yadav has landed in legal trouble after the Delhi High Court sentenced him to three months of simple imprisonment in a cheque bounce case. The court upheld his conviction, bringing a significant development in a legal battle that has been ongoing for several years.

According to reports, the case pertains to multiple dishonoured cheques issued in connection with a financial dispute involving M/s Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd. Rajpal had challenged the trial court's order before the Delhi High Court, seeking relief from the conviction. However, the High Court dismissed his plea and upheld the earlier judgment, resulting in the three-month jail sentence.

The matter reportedly dates back to a financial transaction linked to a film project, after which several cheques issued towards repayment were allegedly dishonoured. This led to complaints being filed under the Negotiable Instruments Act, eventually culminating in the present verdict.

Rajpal's legal team had previously sought relief from the court, and the actor had also secured interim bail during the proceedings after complying with certain conditions. However, with the High Court now affirming the conviction, the case has taken a decisive turn.

Known for his impeccable comic timing, Rajpal Yadav has been one of Bollywood's most popular character actors for over two decades. He has delivered memorable performances in films including Hungama, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Chup Chup Ke, Garam Masala, Malamaal Weekly, and several others.

The latest court ruling has come as a major setback for the actor, who continues to enjoy a strong fan following despite his legal troubles. As of now, Rajpal Yadav has not issued any public statement reacting to the Delhi High Court's verdict.
