Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh made his first public appearance after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him amid the ongoing Don 3 controversy. The actor was spotted at Mumbai airport on Tuesday morning, where he tried to maintain a low profile by covering his face with a black mask and sunglasses.

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding him, Ranveer appeared calm as he walked through the airport under tight security. The actor opted for a traditional look, wearing a white kurta-pyjama paired with a Nehru jacket. Videos and photos of his airport appearance quickly surfaced on social media, drawing attention from fans and paparazzi alike.

Ranveer’s appearance came only hours after FWICE reportedly took action against him for allegedly failing to respond to repeated requests from the federation regarding the Don 3 matter. Reports stated that the body had sent the actor three reminders before issuing the directive.

The issue reportedly began after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar approached the federation with a complaint linked to Ranveer’s exit from the much-awaited film. Farhan’s production banner, Excel Entertainment, had announced Ranveer as the new face of Don in August 2023 through a special teaser unveiling him in the iconic role.

FWICE, in its official statement, claimed that Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani informed the body that nearly Rs 45 crore had already been spent on the film’s pre-production. The federation reportedly expressed concern over the financial impact caused by the actor’s sudden withdrawal from the project.

Soon after the directive became public, Ranveer responded through his spokesperson. The statement read that the actor holds “the highest regard for the film fraternity” and believes professional matters should be handled with “dignity, maturity and mutual respect.” It further stated that he has consciously chosen silence despite ongoing speculation and remains focused on his work and future commitments.
