Yesterday, India woke up to the heartbreaking news of Rishi Kapoor's death. The veteran actor, who was suffering from a prolonged illness, breathed his last yesterday morning at 8:45 AM. Rishi Kapoor’s funeral took place at Chandanwadi Crematorium which was attended by a handful of people including his family members and close friends. Kareena Kapoor Khan-Saif Ali Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Ayan Mukerji, Rajiv Kapoor, Armaan Jain among others marked their presence.
We also witnessed Alia Bhatt standing like a solid pillar by beau Ranbir Kapoor and his mother Neetu Kapoor in these tough times. Right from being the first one to arrive at the hospital to be there till the end of cremation, the Raazi actress made sure to not leave Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor’s side even for a moment. Soon after Rishi Kapoor was laid to rest, inside pictures from the crematorium, that made its way to the internet, saw Alia Bhatt using a phone.
As the picture went viral, haters didn’t take long to get back to their job and slam the actress for recording the video during such a sensitive moment. Not many knew, the actress was not video recording the funeral, she was face-timing with Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who’s stuck in Delhi and couldn’t be a part of her father’s last rites. The proof soon surfaced on social media, when other pictures saw Rishi Kapoor’s sister Rima Jain holding the phone while on a video call with Riddhima Kapoor.
Tweeting in favour of Alia Bhatt a girl wrote, “#AliaBhatt was not using the phone. She was on a Video call with #RishiKapoor Ji daughter coz she could not reach due to lockdown. (Nothing more worst than this) At least leave them this day alone. Only trolling and mocking people know without clearing facts. Heartless creatures.”
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni desperately wanted to be a part of her father’s last journey. Blame it on COVID-19 situation, the actress wasn’t granted permission to travel to Mumbai.
