Actor Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and soon after he found out, he announced a sabbatical from his work for his medical treatment which was followed by multiple chemotherapy sessions in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. Having said that, the news of being diagnosed with cancer came as a rude shock to Sanjay Dutt, reveals his doctor. On World Cancer Day, his doctor, Dr Jalil Parker spoke to Times of India about the same where he even went on to say ‘Why has God chosen me for this?’
He said that the actor was quick to decide on his treatment and went in for chemotherapy on time. “Based on our histopathology reports and a second opinion from consultants abroad, Dutt and his family chose to take chemotherapy treatment at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. I guess he knew Mr Anil Ambani and his wife Tina, which was fine by us. It’s a patient’s prerogative where he wants to be treated and hospitalised. He started taking the chemotherapy protocol which we had prescribed and kept us in the loop; soon he updated us that he was feeling better,” he said to the portal.
Meanwhile, after beating cancer, he issued an official statement, thanking his fans for all the support and wishes as an expert of the note read, “This wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering faith and support from all of you. I am eternally grateful to my family, friends and all the fans who have stood by me.”
He even thanked the doctors for the treatment. “I am especially grateful to Dr Sewanti and her team of doctors, nurses and the medical staff at Kokilaben Hospital who have taken such good care of me,” his note read.
