Actress Sonakshi Sinha recently made headlines after it was reported that a non-bailable warrant was issued against her in a 2019 fraud case. The actress reportedly was accused of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and breach of trust by an event organizer Pramod Sharma. It was reported that Sonakshi failed to attend an event in Delhi, for which she had charged Rs. 37 lakh. Now, breaking her silence, the Dabangg actress has issued a statement, calling it ‘fake news'.
In her statement, Sonakshi clarified that all such reports are baseless rumours and that this is 'pure fiction.' She also stated that the work of a rogue individual is trying to harass her and that her legal team will take legal action in the matter. Sonakshi said, “There have been rumours of a non bailable warrant issued against me floating in the media, without any verification from any authorities since a few days now. This is pure fiction and the work of a rogue individual trying to harass me. I request all media houses, journalists and news reporters not to carry this fake news as it is playing into this individual’s agenda to gain publicity.”
The Akira actress added that this man is trying to gain some publicity and extort money from her by attacking her reputation and planting malicious articles in the media.
“Kindly do not participate in this harassment charade. This matter is subjudice before the Muradabad court and has been stayed by the Allahabad High Court. My legal team will be taking all the necessary action against him for contempt of court. This will be my only comment on this matter until the Muradabad Court has passed its verdict, so please do not approach me for the same. I am home and I can assure you there are no warrants issued against me,” the statement further read. For the unversed, an Etimes TV report claimed that in the wake of Sonakshi not attending the event, the organizer asked her to return his money. But Sonakshi’s manager refused to pay back Pramod Sharma’s money. He thus lodged a complaint of fraud against Sonakshi Sinha.
