Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s latest release ‘The Kashmir Files’ is the most-talked-about movie of recent times. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley during the 1990s, the movie featured Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and others in pivotal roles. Right from PM Narendra Modi, eminent political leaders, celebrities to 'perfectionist' Aamir Khan, everyone has expressed that every Indian should watch the film.
Anupam, who played the role of Pushkar Nath Pandit, has been paid a whopping Rs. 1 crore for the film. He has left everyone mighty impressed with his terrific stint with many calling ‘The Kashmir Files’ his best performance to date. Talking about other actors’ fees, while Pallavi Joshi charged between Rs. 50-70 lakhs, Darshan Kumar was paid Rs. 45 lakhs. Popular actor Punit Issar who essayed the role of DGP Hari Narain charged Rs. 50 lakhs. Laxmi Dutt aka Mrinal Kulkarni was paid Rs. 50 lakhs for her role in the film.
The report added Vivek Agnihotri charged Rs. 1 crore for ‘The Kashmir Files’. The movie was released on March 11, 2022, and it has crossed Rs. 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office in just 10 days.
