According to DNA, Dangal star Fatima Sana Shaikh and Munna Michael debutant Nidhhi Agerwal were approached to star opposite Sushant but they said ‘No’.

The newspaper quoted a source as saying: “Fatima was already on board for Thugs of Hindostan. Plus, the role of the girl might be pivotal, but it’s a small role. So it didn’t interest her.”
“As for Nidhhi, the makers want the heroine to cut her hair short (like Fatima in Dangal). Nidhhi has signed a few brands and she can’t cut her hair because of her contract. So, she also opted out of the film,” added the source.
