Kaun Banega Crorepati season 17, which premiered on August 11, 2025, has already found its first crorepati within just a few days. On Wednesday, Sony TV shared a promo on Instagram, revealing that Aditya Kumar, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer, has won ₹1 crore on the show.
The promo captures a celebratory moment where host Amitabh Bachchan excitedly shouts “Ek Crore!” before jumping from his seat. Aditya is also seen rejoicing in the victory, following which the megastar hugs him warmly and says, “Gale lag jaaye aap hamare.”
After his big win, Aditya shared his thoughts on the importance of education, crediting it as the key to his success. “Education is extremely important, and for that reason, I have been able to reach this position so far, and sit here today,” he said. He also reflected on the hardships he faced during his preparation years. “It has been a tough journey so far. I remember staying in a small room, letting go of my friends, and locking myself up for one year to devote completely to preparation. Because of that sacrifice, I have reached here,” he added.
Despite securing ₹1 crore, Aditya showed no hesitation in taking the ultimate risk by opting to attempt the ₹7 crore jackpot question. “Risk lena hai sir,” he told Amitabh Bachchan, leaving the audience eager to know whether he would go on to create history.
Kaun Banega Crorepati, which first aired in 2000, has become one of the most iconic shows on Indian television. Except for season 3, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, the quiz show has always been helmed by Amitabh Bachchan. Earlier this year, there were speculations that Salman Khan might take over hosting duties for season 17, but the reports were dismissed as baseless.
With Aditya Kumar’s achievement, season 17 has already begun on an inspiring and high-spirited note.
