A recent clip from the reality show The 50 has sparked controversy after Nikki Tamboli’s team accused fellow contestant Prince Narula of body-shaming the actress. In the video that went viral online, Prince is seen making fun of Nikki’s lips while talking with Shiv Thakare and Monalisa, prompting laughter from those around him. Following this, Nikki’s team took to social media to condemn his behavior in a strong statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).
In their post, they addressed Prince as a “so-called husband, father, public figure,” challenging him on how he would feel if someone made similar comments about another man’s daughter. They emphasized that what was shown on the show “isn’t strategy” or a part of the game, but rather “body-shaming done quietly — the coward’s way.” The statement also underscored that “cameras don’t cancel character” and that “influence doesn’t excuse disrespect.”
The team didn’t stop there. They reiterated that mocking someone behind their back “isn’t power,” urging that if someone has something to say, they should say it directly. They added that “behind-the-back mocking isn’t strength — it’s fear pretending to be confidence,” and criticized the misuse of influence, stating that “influence without responsibility” reflects weakness rather than leadership.
The 50, produced by Banijay Asia, places 50 contestants in a competitive environment with unpredictable challenges and strategy at its core. The show continues to generate attention not just for its tasks but for the interpersonal drama among participants, with recent episodes drawing commentary around alliances, conflicts, and player dynamics.
