On the premiere of Too Much With Kajol & Twinkle on Amazon Prime Video (September 25, 2025), Salman Khan addressed his relationship with Aamir Khan—how it began, suffered a fallout, and eventually healed.
Salman reflected on their early friendship while discussing their first film together, Andaz Apna Apna. He recalled that Aamir would arrive on set at 7 a.m. for a 9 a.m. call time, and would rehearse diligently, while Salman was juggling far more work (“I had 15 films”). Because of this, according to Salman, Aamir “thought that I was not interested in my work.” But Salman countered that it was impossible to be uninterested when he was managing “three shifts at a time.”
Over the years the tension grew. During the Bigg Boss 18 finale, Salman brought up an old video from the final day of Andaz Apna Apna in which Aamir said he felt relieved once their work together was done. Aamir had even stated that he would never work with Salman again.
With time though, things changed. Aamir shared that his past sentiments—“I would never work with Salman Khan again in his life”—belonged to a moment of frustration, not to be taken as permanent. “That was my feeling at the time, but now my feelings have changed. With time, I've grown to appreciate who Salman is. It just took me some time to understand.”
They have known each other since childhood—they were classmates from class two. During Aamir Khan’s separation from Reena Dutta, when he was going through depression, Salman visited him. They spoke for hours, and it was this time that tightened their bond, leading them eventually to become good friends again.
