Actress Madhuri Dixit is facing criticism after arriving nearly three hours late to her “The Golden Diva of Bollywood” tour stop in Toronto on 2 November, prompting fans to demand refunds.
According to audience members, the show began with other acts at 5 p.m., and only after waiting did Madhuri finally appear around 10 p.m. Many note that she spent most of her appearance seated, and danced to her much-loved hits for only about 10–15 minutes.
One fan posted in the comments of event promoter True Sound Live’s Instagram that they sat through the waiting, watched supporting performances, and were frustrated by the late arrival: “3 hours late and then full of lame talks.” Another wrote, “Worst show one can ever go to, least worried about the audience time.”
A different attendee remarked that they left at 11:05 p.m. because they had commitments the next day, saying, “I honestly don’t know if it was the organisers or her who decided she’d come at 10 pm. It just started way too late and disrespected the audience’s time.”
Fans also criticised the lack of apology or explanation for the delay. The event’s description promised a full show, yet many felt mis-led when only about an hour of direct interaction and performance followed the long wait. One comment read, “This show was horrendous!!!! False advertising it should have been called an interview with Madhuri.”
At present, neither Madhuri Dixit nor her team have publicly responded to the backlash.
