Popular YouTuber and reality show winner Elvish Yadav has reportedly received a death threat along with an extortion demand of ₹10 crore. According to reports, the threat was allegedly issued in the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and sent through WhatsApp from an international number.
As per the complaint filed with the Gurugram Police, Elvish claimed that he first received a WhatsApp call on May 5 from a foreign number but could not answer it. He later received threatening messages from the same number. The sender allegedly identified himself as Randeep Malik and claimed to have close links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The messages reportedly demanded ₹10 crore within two days and threatened to shoot the YouTuber if the amount was not paid. Reports further stated that similar threatening messages were also sent to Elvish’s father. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Sector 56 police station in Gurugram under sections related to extortion and criminal intimidation.
Police officials have launched an investigation into the matter and are trying to trace the origin of the WhatsApp call and messages. The case has reportedly been transferred to the Crime Branch for further probe.
This is not the first time Elvish Yadav has faced security concerns. Reports suggest that unidentified attackers had earlier opened fire outside his Gurugram residence, though no injuries were reported in that incident.
